    Job description

    POSITION: Community Maintenance Worker

Do you enjoy being part of a community and knowing your work is helping make a difference? Then come to beautiful Fire Island Pines, a magical, friendly, prominently LGBTQ community. We are located on a beautiful barrier beach of Fire Island, where travel to work is by ferry and your commute is worry free as you enjoy the tranquil ride across the Great South Bay to Fire Island Pines, where we have a reputation for diversity and are welcoming of all.

Fire Island Pines is the largest residential community on Fire Island and includes some 600 homes and 100 co-ops. Our community has a population as high as 5,000 in the summer and about 50 in the winter. Residents, renters and guests all come here to enjoy, relax, and have fun.

With 400 members, FIPPOA (Fire Island Pines Property Owner’s Association), a 501 (c)(4) non-profit organization is led by elected officers and it’s board of directors who oversee the operations of the community and help protect the fragile ecosystem of a barrier island. Our other organization, The Pines Foundation (TPF), is a non-profit 501 © (3) charity organization which raises critical funds for our local Pines programs and projects that make our community thrive.
