Community Manager - Multifamily Property Management - Base Salary to 85k/year - Norwalk, CT
Our client, a full-service property management firm, is seeking an experienced Community Manager to oversee a multifamily residential community in Norwalk, CT. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for day-to-day operations, leasing performance, resident satisfaction, and financial results.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all daily operations of a multifamily residential community
Hire, train, and supervise onsite staff
Partner with Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate work orders, turns, and preventative maintenance
Drive occupancy, leasing activity, and resident retention initiatives
Manage resident relations, including conflict resolution and service recovery
Prepare and manage operating budgets; monitor financial performance and NOI
Track and report on occupancy, leasing trends, and service KPIs
Oversee rent collection, delinquency management, and financial reporting
Maintain vendor relationships, review invoices, and ensure proper documentation (COIs)
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and fair housing regulations
Conduct regular inspections of common areas, model units, and vacant units
Oversee applicant screening, including credit and background review
Maintain a high standard of community appearance and customer service
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years of multifamily (apartment) property management experience
1+ years in a Community Manager or Property Manager leadership role
Experience managing onsite teams and coordinating maintenance operations
Experience with leasing, occupancy management, and resident retention
Exposure to budgeting, rent collections, and property financials (NOI)
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Ability to walk the property, including climbing stairs
Experience managing mid- to large-size apartment communities
