MEDICAL ASSISTANT JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Nursing Manager or Clinic Manager, the Medical Assistant is responsible for providing support to clinical and administrative operations. Above all, the Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient-centered care in a professional environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Includes the following; other duties may be assigned)
Clinical Duties
Obtains vital signs, blood specimens, saliva samples, and urine samples
Processes point of care urine drug screens per company policy
Processes point of care pregnancy tests
Calls in prescriptions
Maintains accurate client records in company’s EHR system
Adheres to all federal, state, local, and accrediting body regulations
Administrative Duties
Checks in arriving clients for medical and clinical appointments
Enters clients into the dosing queue
Schedules intakes, medical appointments, and clinical appointments
Answers incoming phone calls
Verifies client insurance eligibility
Scans and links documents to client profiles in the EHR
Monitors clinic lobby
COMPETENCIES
Basic to intermediate computer knowledge
Knowledge of the signs of intoxication and opioid withdrawal symptoms
Problem solving, conflict resolution, and strong customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
Culturally competent and sensitive to client and employee needs
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Adheres to and enforces company policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Certified Medical Assistant in state(s) of employment
Ability to travel to assigned CMS sites
Experience in the field of substance use disorders preferred, but not required
Shift Available: 10:00 AM- 6:00 PM
