Blue Livin' Supports provides Social & Adaptive Recreation and Community Integration Instruction for adults with developmental disabilities. All of our services are community‑based – we do not operate a facility, and we do not provide in‑home care. Why This Role Is Different: This is not a traditional Direct Support Professional (DSP) role.
There are:
No in‑home supports
No Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
No toileting, bathing, feeding, or housekeeping
Instead, you will:
Lead community outings (parks, movies, bowling, fitness, events, etc.)
Support social skills and communication in real‑world settings
Partner with participants to co‑develop and organize activity schedules
Help adults with developmental disabilities enjoy the community safely and confidently
If you enjoy being social, active, and out in the community, this is a great fit.
Standard Hours:
Monday through Friday: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Some Saturdays (planned in advance):
Responsibilities:
Lead small‑group community outings for adults with developmental disabilities
Support participants in building social skills, communication, and community navigation
Collaborate with participants to plan weekly activity schedules (e.g., choosing outings, times, and locations)
Supervise participants safely in public settings and during transportation
Use company vehicles to transport participants to and from activities
Model inclusive, respectful behavior in the community
Communicate professionally with team members regarding participant needs and progress
Requirements:
25 years of age or older (required for company vehicle insurance)
Valid driver’s license
Clean driving record and comfortable driving company vehicles
Ability to supervise and engage small groups in public
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Positive, patient, and energetic personality
Comfortable being active and out in the community
Basic computer skills and own a smartphone
Valid First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Must pass employment screening, TB test, and health screening
Preferred (not required):
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Experience in recreation, coaching, education, camps, ABA, DSP, or community programs
Interest in psychology, social work, recreation, kinesiology, special education, or related fields
