The Information Technology Trainer (Remote Contract) will work as a member of CompTIA’s Custom Training (CCT), reporting directly to Training Operations Manager, to provide front-line technical training to CCT’s students and clients. CompTIA Custom Training brings best-in-class instructor-led training on site and virtually to corporations, government entities and nonprofit organizations. With certification training tailored to our clients, our end-to-end training solution gets results. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Lead instruction and student assessment, ensuring students are working toward the competencies of course level and program learning outcomes
- Maintain, develop and continuously improve online and classroom-based learning content, lab projects and assessments
- Create a classroom/lab environment that is respectful of diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism
- Maintain accurate student records and reports as requested
- Proactively and effectively communicate with Training Operations Manager
- Adhere to the priorities, objectives and guidance of Training Operations Manager
- Produce effective training presentations, tutorials, instructor and student guides, lesson plans/exercises in multiple media and formats suitable to course audience
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 2-4 years of teaching experience or honorable military service
- Prior experience with technical training and writing is preferred
- Current CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications are required
- Advanced IT certifications preferred
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, particularly translating technical terms/processes into layman terms
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Strong comfort level with new technology
- Travel requirements: Current openings are for virtual instructors. (You do not need to be based in San Antonio, TX to apply for this role. We are hiring across the country)
