We operate residential group homes in several counties in Maryland and also provide Employment, Meaningful Day, Behavioral Support Services, Personal Supports and Supported Living services. We are continuing to grow and expand our delivery of services.
We are seeking a highly skilled, self-starter with prior experience in high-volume recruitment to meet our hiring goals. This position is a member of Compass' Human Resources team and is responsible for the full cycle of recruitment activities beginning with sourcing and screening candidates for the agency, including entry level direct support professionals as well as management and administrative staff. Additional recruitment activities include coordinating the interview process, facilitating job offers and employment negotiations, and assisting with on-boarding. Additionally, this position will develop and implement retention strategies, including conducting 90 day stay interviews. The ideal candidate will be someone with demonstrated "people skills" who will be the face of Compass with candidates and is driven to contribute to Compass' growth and success.
Essential functions include:
- Develop and post positions internally and externally
- Attend Job Fairs and other recruitment activities
- Identify and recommend sourcing opportunities to attract talent, including developing partnerships with local colleges and mission-based non-profits to recruit and attract talent
- Utilize social media and technology to further develop sourcing opportunities and streamline recruitment
- Process employment applications and track and disposition candidates using the Applicant Tracking System
- Conduct phone screens with candidates
- Coordinate and schedule interviews
- Conduct interviews as needed
- Administer pre-employment tests
- Assist with conducting background checks and references as needed
- Facilitate job offers and develop offer letters
- Ensure communication with candidates throughout the hiring and onboarding process to ensure quality and positive onboarding experience. This includes including inviting and confirming attendance to new hire orientation, providing reminders and information regarding all required staff training during the onboarding process.
- Assist with implementation of new hire orientation and ensure new hire paperwork, including I-9 verification is completed
- Conduct 90 day stay interviews and provide analysis/recommendations for managing employee retention
Key Requirements and Qualifications:
- 2-5 years successful recruitment experience
- Healthcare or human services recruitment experience preferred
- High attention to detail with proven organizational skills
- Track record of delivering extraordinary customer service
- Strong work ethic, integrity and personal accountability
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills, proactive and strong sense of urgency
- Adaptable and able to contribute to a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
- Experience working with applicant tracking system and HRIS (ADP) preferred
- High School Diploma: Educational background in Human Resources, bachelor's degree preferred
- New hires are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 or obtain vaccination in first 45 days of employment
Compensation and Work Conditions: We offer competitive salary and excellent benefits including health, dental, vision, short term disability and life insurance as well as 401K retirement plan with generous employer match. Paid holidays and 15 days of paid time off (PTO.) The hours of this position are generally M-F 9a-5pm but flexing of hours to enable working some evenings or weekends to attend job fairs, etc. as needed may be required. Currently this position offers a hybrid of remote work 2-3 days a week and in-office work at least 2 days a week.
