    CAMPUS: COMPASS ROSE LEGACY ELEMENTARY

    GRADES: 5TH-7TH

    ROLE MISSION: 

    Compass Rose Academy Teaching Fellows are responsible for ensuring that every Compass Rose student master the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in college, while also embodying Compass Rose's values daily. 

    In addition, Compass Rose Teaching Fellows support the ambitious goals for student achievement and invest students and families in accomplishing them; foster a powerful learning environment; and deliver purposeful, rigorous instruction; assess for mastery, and track student progress toward goals.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:        

    • Learn, master, and deliver Computer Science instruction to 7th graders using Code.org curriculum
    • Learn, master and deliver grade-level content to support intervention push- in or pull-out support for students in 5th-7th grades.
    • Implement formal and informal assessments to track each individual student's progress and learning needs
    • Execute a clear and consistent behavior management system designed by the classroom teacher that aligns to campus-wide initiatives while developing students' character and sense of community in the classroom   
    • Support a school-wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student  
    • Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect for the communities in which they identify.   
    • Engage in summer and year-long district, school, and personal learning and development  
    • Planning thoughtfully and teaching joyously. You'll adapt our rigorous, standards-based curriculum to meet the particular needs of your students, thinking about both how to scaffold rigorous learning and how to infuse your students' day with joy. 
    • Using data intentionally. You are constantly thinking about how to help Compass Rose students achieve ambitious goals. To track progress towards goals, you'll analyze academic and classroom culture data to inform your instruction and target focus areas for your students.
    • Invest in your own learning. We support our Teacher Fellows ongoing professional growth through weekly professional development opportunities, as well as weekly observations and feedback conversations.
    • Support  Lead Teachers. Whether it be academic or social/emotional, you are a jack-of-all-trades who is willing to support any and every student need based on the guidance and discretion of the lead teachers.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Have a minimum of 48 college credit hours
    • Pass a criminal background check.
    • Have experience working with school-aged children in a school setting.
    • Possess a goal-oriented mindset and a belief that there is always room to improve

    COMPENSATION:

    • NON-DEGREED: $23,000
    • BACHELOR'S DEGREE: $30,000
