    Peer Recovery Support Specialist Impact Mental Health Services LLC – Tidewater, VA

    Impact Mental Health Services LLC is a forward-thinking, community-based mental health agency dedicated to delivering highly effective and compassionate support services across the Tidewater area. Our mission is to empower individuals and families to become strong self-advocates and active participants in their journey toward recovery and well-being.

    We are currently seeking reliable, motivated, and client-focused Peer Recovery Support Specialists to join our team. Ideal candidates will bring personal insight, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine desire to support individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. We have an urgent need for male Peer Recovery Support Specialists to serve our growing client base.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide person-centered support to individuals with Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and mental health conditions in community settings.

    Assist clients with daily living tasks and skill-building activities (e.g., housekeeping, organization, time management).

    Encourage and promote a safe, clean, and respectful living environment.

    Monitor and discourage inappropriate behaviors, including substance use or policy violations.

    Support clients in managing visitor policies, fostering accountability, and respecting community guidelines.

    Maintain professional and timely communication with clients’ QMHPs and care teams.

    Attend scheduled client check-ins and community rounds as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Valid Virginia driver’s license (Required)

    High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

    Minimum one year of experience in community-based support services

    Ability to effectively communicate and engage with individuals with mental health diagnoses

    Experience providing instruction in daily life skills (e.g., hygiene, cleanliness, functional independence)

    Demonstrated organizational, time-management, and verbal communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    At least one year of sobriety (if applicable)

    Personal/lived experience with substance use recovery and/or mental illness

    Experience in case management or Microsoft Office (Preferred, not required)

    Schedule & Pay:

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $16.00 – $21.00 per hour

    Expected Hours: 35 – 50 hours per week

    Flexible schedule: Day shift, evening shift, Monday–Friday, weekends as needed
