Job Overview
We are seeking a Compensation Analyst to support the development and administration of classification and compensation programs that attract and retain a high-performing workforce.
This role is responsible for conducting job analyses, maintaining pay structures, benchmarking compensation against market data, and supporting salary administration processes. The Compensation Analyst will evaluate job descriptions, ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies, and provide data-driven recommendations to support organizational compensation strategies.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in compensation program design, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights effectively. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in classification and compensation analysis
- Experience conducting job evaluations, salary studies, and market benchmarking
- Experience developing and maintaining compensation structures and pay plans
- Experience analyzing compensation data and preparing reports and recommendations
- Experience supporting merit increases, pay adjustments, and compensation-related audits
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications
- Valid Florida driver’s license and ability to operate work vehicles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience Preferences
- Experience working in government, municipal, or large organizational environments
- Familiarity with federal and state compensation laws and regulations
- Experience supporting HRIS data analysis and reporting
- Experience working with job description development and job classification systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25 lbs
- Ability to perform detailed analytical work requiring high accuracy
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or related field
Education Preferences
- Advanced certifications in compensation, human resources, or related fields
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification
