Competitive Dance Instructor (Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Modern) - Roselle Park, NJ
Ensemble Performing Arts is seeking Dance Instructors with experience teaching and choreographing in competitive programs for Fusion Dance Centre in Roselle Park, NJ. We're looking for teachers that value a positive, uplifting classroom environment.
Our Dance Company classes focus on technical development, musicality, and teamwork while nurturing artistry and self-confidence.
This position is ideal for teachers with both competitive and concert dance training who want to plant roots in a studio long-term and invest in overall personal, student, and program growth.
Opportunities for professional development, administrative work, and career advancement are offered within our large studio. Part-time and Full-time positions are available. Accessible from NYC by bus or train.
Position Overview
The Competitive Dance Teacher leads engaging, age-appropriate classes that foster the technical, emotional, and mental development of dancers.
Our Dance Company program prioritizes physical and psychological safety, while encouraging self-expression and developing passion both on and off-stage.

Teach structured, progressive classes that support technical and artistic growth. Monitor and assess student progress.
Choreograph dynamic pieces with creative staging and storytelling that challenge and develop dancers as performers, not just showcase tricks
Help prepare students and attend dress rehearsals, competitions, and performances
Communicate positively with parents and studio staff. Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
Arrive prepared and on time for all classes
Create a welcoming, encouraging atmosphere where dancers feel safe and confident

Is patient, energetic, and encouraging, tailoring instruction to dancers' needs
Has a growth mindset and is comfortable receiving and applying feedback
Can maintain structure while keeping classes fun and engaging
Demonstrates strong choreography skills for various numbers of dancers
Is reliable, organized, and communicates professionally
Can pass a standard background check
Is ready to invest in the growth of the program long-term and be part of our dancers' journey and a valued member of our studio family
Schedule
Evening classes and (preferably) weekend rehearsals. Dress rehearsals, competitions, and performances per the yearly calendar.
Opportunities to attend Dance Company conventions and master classes.
*Numerous opportunities for solo, duet, small and large group choreography outside of class time
Preferred Experience
Minimum three years of experience teaching and choreographing for various ages and levels. Ability to teach multiple styles is a plus.
Background in competitive dance and concert dance is a plus.
Must provide videos of choreography from studio rehearsals, competitions, or performances, not college-level or professional work.
