    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Competitive Range works in partnership with government to plan and execute the acquisition of complex, IT-enabled and mission essential capabilities. Members of our organization work on integrated project teams, providing guidance on and assistance with acquisition strategies, acquisition lifecycles, acquisition program office organizational design and operations, specifications of products and services, source selection activities, and post-award contract administration and performance monitoring.     This position supports the Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) Commercial Satellite Communications Office (CSCO), assisting customers in the Commercial Satellite Communications (COMSATCOM) acquisition and provisioning process. Competitive Range is looking for a Satellite communications Analyst to work with AFSPC CSCO to provide analysis of the commercial satellite market and the CSCO Program processes and practices.  The position work independently and part of a team to produce Technical Trade Studies and Analysis, Federal and DoD inquiry/tasking responses, White Papers, Technical Reports and Briefings, Briefing/Presentation Materials.  Documents are required to be of sufficient quality to go up the chain of command to O7 level, so require highest quality not only of the written material but the visual presentation as well.  Taskings often occur unexpectedly and require a short turn around so Analyst must be able to work efficiently to complete deliverables.

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct technology assessments, market research and analysis of COMSATCOM systems.

    • Perform analysis of current usage or statistics utilizing ECM data base, contract documentation and customer feedback. 

    • Create Whitepapers covering a variety of SATCOM industry or AFCSCO topics.

    • Participate in government and commercial reviews, symposia and industry technology conferences to ensure leading edge technology strategies are employed. 

    • Provide economic and technical analysis support to COMSATCOM initiatives/investigations for systems such as Pathfinders, HTS, LEO, MEO and future AFSPC enterprise solutions.

    • Generate reports and program documentation supporting RFIs, official responses to both internal and external customers, leadership, and Government and Industry Senior Leadership.

    • Assist the Government in responding to various Congressional, Federal and DoD inquiries and taskings.

    • Provide recommendation and assist the Government in policy review/evaluation and development.

    • Direct and oversee the receipt, management, tasking, tracking and closure of all internal and external tasks.

    • Draft, proofread, edit and provide final review of internal and external correspondence.

    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internally and externally customers and other stakeholders of the Govt.

    • Ability to utilize data bases and SharePoint documentation to generate reports and analysis.  Ability to create graphics, spreadsheets, tables and PowerPoint presentations to support reports and analysis.

    • Support internal and external meetings, reviews, working groups.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree

    • Experience with PowerPoint SharePoint, MS Word, MS Publisher, Access, Adobe and Excel.

    • Experience creating government communications including memorandums, directives, policies. 

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

    • Strong organization skills; ability to prioritize tasks

    • Highly motivated

    • Ability to work with a team

    • Experience as Action Officer a plus

    • Secret Clearance
