An established construction company in Lake Charles is seeking an Architectural Drafter & CAD Operator responsible assisting with the designing and planning of commercial, institutional, or renovation and or proposed new commercial construction. Their duties include carrying out consultations with clients, sketching designs, and working with internal and external team members to bring a project from start to successful completion. They need to have a combination of architectural expertise, and expertise in CAD and Revit drafting. As well, they must possess the ability and desire to research and find solutions to problems. The position is responsible for providing clear and accurate working plans and detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following :

o Makes initial through final drawings and details, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, the relation of one part to another, and the relation of various parts to the whole structure or project using AutoDesk Revit software and AutoCAD.

o Create technical schematics and blueprints for the construction of structures

o Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.

o Work under the direction of architect/engineer/owner.

o Makes any adjustments or changes necessary or desired.

o Coordinate with other employees to obtain technical details, optimize designs, and resolve issues.

o Modify and revise designs to correct design

o Write additional instructions & comments and position them into technical drawings and blueprints

o Uses computer-assisted drafting software REVIT and AutoCAD
