Litigation Associate – Environmental & Commercial Litigation
Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $145,000 - $180,000 (commensurate with experience)
About the Opportunity:
Direct Counsel is representing a national law firm seeking a Litigation Associate to join its busy Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to develop their expertise in environmental toxic tort and commercial litigation while working closely with experienced partners. Key Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of complex civil litigation , including client communications, motions, discovery responses, court appearances, mediations, and settlement negotiations
- Take and defend depositions and draft dispositive motions
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic, analytical solutions to complex litigation matters
- Work both independently and collaboratively in a team-driven environment
- Receive mentorship and training remotely from attorneys in other offices
- Interact directly with clients and contribute to achieving their legal objectives
Qualifications:
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with exceptional research and analytical skills
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a passion for litigation
Education & Experience:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in California , active and in good standing
- 3+ years of experience in complex civil litigation (preferred experience in commercial, environmental, and construction litigation )
