    The Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s compliance management system to ensure adherence to federal, state, and investor regulations governing the residential mortgage industry. This role manages regulatory reporting, quality control programs, audit preparedness, and cross-departmental training to support compliance mortgage origination. This role safeguards the company’s operations by proactively identifying compliance risks, providing guidance to executive leadership and staff, and maintaining strong relationships with regulators and auditors. The Compliance Manager will act as the primary resource for interpreting regulatory requirements, updating policies and procedures, conducting training, and ensuring that the company remains in full compliance while supporting sustainable growth. This position is in the office, Full-Time at our Corporate Office in Austin. Full-time, in-office in Dallas and Phoenix as an option. Austin Relocation budget of $10,000. Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance and Oversight • Maintain deep expertise in TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) requirements and ensure compliant disclosure practices across the loan lifecycle. • Interpret federal and state mortgage regulations, including TILA, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, FCRA, SAFE Act, and CFPB rules. • Monitor updates to investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA) and ensure internal alignment. Lead the preparation, review, and submission of required regulatory and investor reports, including: • Quarterly Mortgage Call Reports (NMLS). • Annual HMDA LAR submission. • Annual MERS Quality Assurance (QA) Report. Policy Development & Implementation • Develop, update, and enforce company compliance policies and procedures. • Ensure Loan Officer Compensation plans comply with CFPB and state requirements. • Oversee policies related to advertising, RESPA/TILA disclosures, HMDA, ECOA, fair lending, anti-money laundering, and record retention. • Prepare and maintain documentation for monthly compliance meeting minutes, ensuring accurate tracking of findings, decisions, and follow-up actions • Serve as the subject-matter expert on federal/state law, investor requirements, and QC standards. Training & Communication • Develop, update, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and job aids. • Provide training to staff on TRID, regulatory updates, audit findings, and compliance best practices. • Communicate regulatory updates across the organization in clear, practical terms. Auditing & Risk Management • Conduct internal audits and quality control reviews to identify and mitigate compliance risks. • Oversee responses to investor and agency audit findings. • Maintain corrective action plans and track resolution of compliance issues. • Manage and coordinate all state regulator audits, including preparing documentation, coordinating responses, and monitoring remediation. • Maintain readiness for federal, state, investor, and internal audits through ongoing audit-prep processes and documentation controls. • Implement and manage the Third-Party QC Audit Process, including vendor oversight, testing schedules, and issue remediation. • Ensure QC processes meet FNMA QC requirements, including sampling, reverification, and reporting standards. • Oversee FHA EPD reviews, reporting, and corrective action plans. Licensing & Corporate Compliance • Oversee company and branch licensing applications, renewals, and state reporting requirements. • Ensure mortgage loan originator (MLO) licensing is properly managed and tracked. • Maintain corporate records and ensure compliance with state mortgage banking statutes. Collaboration & Strategic Support • Partner with Operations, Sales, and Executive teams to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into daily workflows. • Communicate regulatory changes, operational impacts, and compliance risks to relevant departments. • Provide detailed compliance reports to senior leadership. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, law, or a related field is preferred. • 5+ years of compliance experience within the residential mortgage industry. • Strong knowledge of federal and state mortgage laws and regulations. • Experience managing licensing, audits, and compliance management systems. • Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills. • Ability to balance regulatory requirements with business objectives. Compensation: $90,000 yearly
