ALH Design Technician Trainee is an entry-level position focused on learning to design and create structural components. The role involves a training program to learn how to read blueprints, use specialized design software, compute dimensions, and prepare basic wall panels, roof trusses, and floor truss designs and placement layouts. Responsibilities: • Design and CAD: Prepare basic walls, roof and/or floor truss designs, compute plan dimensions, and enter design parameters into specialized software. • Blueprint analysis: Read and interpret architectural plans, blueprints, and customer requirements. • Plan review: Work with experienced designers to review plans for accuracy and adherence to standards. • Production support: Produce truss placement layouts for final construction. • Customer and sales collaboration: Confer with sales and/or customers to understand project requirements. Qualifications: • Construction or design shop experience is beneficial. • The ability to apply mathematical concepts like geometry and trigonometry to practical situations is necessary for the design work. • Strong communication and problem-solving skills are crucial for collaboration. Compensation: $20 - $28 hourly
