We’re looking for a Composite Shop Floor Manager to run day-to-day operations on the fabrication floor. This person keeps the shop organized, the team aligned, and the work moving — deciding the right way to build things and ensuring the team executes consistently and efficiently. You’ll own the micro-level tasking and daily triage: assigning work, sorting priorities, coordinating people, and keeping every station productive. You’ll work closely with leadership in a tight two-way communication loop. This role is hands-on, people-driven, and technical. You should be someone who can lead by example, set the tone on the floor, and jump in on key fabrication work when needed. Responsibilities: Daily Floor Leadership • Run and maintain the daily shop plan : who is doing what, on which project, and in what order • Continuously triage tasks and rebalance priorities based on real-time progress • Ensure clear communication across the team, adjusting on the fly as projects evolve • Maintain a productive, organized, and safe shop environment People & Workflow Management • Lead, coach, and support fabricators with day-to-day guidance • Ensure each person knows exactly what they should be doing and why • Identify skill gaps and provide training or pairing to build the team up • Build and maintain a positive, accountable floor culture Fabrication Decision-Making • Translate engineering intent into practical build processes • Decide layup strategy, bond/trim approach, sequencing, tooling needs, and workflow • Write clear, simple work instructions where needed • Step in directly on critical layups, trimming, bonding, or problem-solving work Quality, Follow-Through & Communication • Ensure parts meet spec and deadlines through active oversight and follow-up • Flag issues early and work with leadership/engineering to close gaps • Communicate floor needs clearly upward — material shortages, tooling concerns, unclear drawings, etc. • Help refine shop processes, tooling setups, and repeatability over time Qualifications: • Hands-on composite fabrication experience (fiberglass, carbon, epoxy systems) • Experience leading or coordinating teams on the shop floor • Strong ability to break down complex builds into clean, efficient sequences • Confident in deciding fabrication methods independently • Clear communicator who thrives in fast-paced, multi-project environments • Comfortable balancing leadership with hands-on fabrication • Strong technical drawing interpretation and spatial reasoning Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 yearly
