FULL TIME POSITION- Throwers will be collecting paper lawn waste bags or bundles and putting in rear load packer trucks. Some areas have cans to be dumped, any toters are placed on a toter tipper. You must be able to lift 50-70 pounds steadily all day and work in all types of weather. Very physical position. Must be able to get on and off the step on back of vehicle quickly, collect items and go again. In between areas you may be riding in truck. Ther is NO set time off- you are done for the day when routes are completed!

Helpers are responsible for working as part of a team with the driver to service the collection, hauling and disposal of residential yard waste or some recycling.

All Helpers need to clock in between 6:10am and 6:15 am. Helpers will be out on route until routes are done, Monday through Friday, in all types of weather. Normally 40 hours per week but overtime during the busy season. Pay 1 1/2 times regular rate for over 40 hours.

Good attendance is a must. Also, Throwers must be on time every day. No Call, No Show, No Job :). You MUST have reliable transportation of your own to get to and from work daily.

Full Time work Monday through Friday, receive pay the following Friday via Direct Deposit. (You will work some Saturdays due to Holidays). Pay is weekly.

Reviews at 30, 90, 180, 365 days. Raises based on performance and Attendance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for moving yard waste from the curb to the rear load garbage truck.

Helpers will perform their duties in a safe manner at all times. No ear buds, Beats or phones while working from back of truck!

The Helper is responsible for ensuring that the collection areas are clean by picking up any refuse that has fallen out of the container or truck. Brooms and shovels are on each truck.

Following the direction of the driver who is in charge of the Helper(s) while on route. And assisting the driver as needed.

Required safety gear shall be worn at all times while maintaining a neat and professional appearance. Uniform shirts or jackets or coats must be worn at all times. Uniforms are issued after 90 days.

Assist on spotting violations and notifying the driver of these violations

Be on time to work daily, & ready to work.

Physical Requirements:

HEAVY LIFTING: Ability to perform heavy physically demanding work. Physical effort may include: lifting, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive bending/twisting motions.

Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range. Ability to lift and carry/lift up to 50 lbs. to 60 lbs. repeatedly throughout shift. Required to possibly enter/exit the truck repeatedly throughout the day and/or ride on the back of the sidestep of the vehicle in residential areas or walk/run between residential stops in close proximity to the truck.

Working Conditions:

Heavy work in varying outdoor weather conditions with exposure to extremely cold temperatures, wind, snow, and ice and extremely hot temperatures and rain. Potential exposure to hazardous materials: exhaust fumes, waste fumes, hydraulic fluids, odors, etc. Rain gear for sale through company management. Uniform shirts, coats, jackets, hi Vis vest free unless you do not return them if you quit, are self-terminated or are terminated. Helpers need to understand how to work independently and communicate often with the driver. YOU MAY BE WORKING SOLO ON THE TRUCK. NOT ALL ROUTE REQUIRE 2 THROWERS. You may have to return to the shop to swap out trucks and go back out on route. You may not leave or will be self-terminated.

Bring a lot of water daily and your lunch. It is your responsibility to bring enough water to last 8-10 hours. Truck/Drivers do not stop at gas stations as soon as they leave the shop. Be here and be ready to go out on route and work. Boots are required. You will need to wear boots that cover your ankles. No need for steel toes if you are not comfortable with them. You may wear jeans or jeans shorts OR canvas pants and canvas shorts. No jogging pants! Wear shirts that do not have profanity, or inappropriate wording or lewd pictures.

Personal Attributes

Be Honest and trustworthy. Be respectful to customers and the public as you represent this company. Also be respectful to the driver. Demonstrate sound work ethic- BE HERE DAILY! Safety vests borrowed from company must be worn at all times until you receive uniform shirts after 90 days. Be flexible and work well with others in a team environment.

NOTE

Throwers should be prepared daily with all clothing, gloves, boots, a lot of water, food, cold weather gear and rain gear. Rain, snow, cold or heat is NOT an excuse to not show up to work. We sell rain gear; you need to buy it ahead of time as it may need to be ordered. You MUST present a valid, non-expired State ID or Driver's License and either a Social Security card or Birth certificate before being hired.
