Job Description:

COME & JOIN OUR TEAM! We are currently seeking Class A or B CDL Drivers To Collect Yard or Recycling Waste - Year-Round - Full Time. You will be responsible for safely operating a garbage truck and the collection of yard waste as assigned each day.

We have been in business for 32 years and currently run a fleet of 15-20 trucks depending on the time of year. We are a small, closely held company that is looking for someone to join us that would like to become a part of a successful team. We have health, dental and vision insurance, Company pays for 25K in Life Insurance as long as you are employed with us, matching 401K up to 4% after 6 months of employment, and PTO days off. Starts at $23.00 an hour.

You must have at least one full year of driving for another employer to be hired due to our insurance carrier's policies. All positions pay overtime, but we try very hard to keep your work week to 40 hours per week. There will be overtime in the Spring and Fall. We work 52 weeks per year but have lighter collection schedules in winter so you may be doing other kinds of work during January through March to keep everyone making 40 hours per week. We work Monday through Friday, unless we are off for a holiday during the week. Make up day will be a Saturday.

Your Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

Must be able to read a map.

Safely operate a garbage truck

Responsibly supervisor helpers and truck

Load and unload yard waste or other cargo

Properly track and document activity log on computer tracking system with a Samsung tablet.

Report any issues, incidents, accidents to Managers, Supervisors, Dispatch & Mechanic depending on the situation.

Inspect truck before and after trip, wash truck, fill fluids, etc. Daily report to mechanic. Check tires.

Must be able to work independently but understand the need for reporting to Supervisors to get all work accomplished.

Must be able to drive, assist with Throwers, give out violation stickers, follow directions well, report and communicate with supervisors, managers, mechanic and the office.

You must wear Boots that cover your ankles daily.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in garbage truck driving or other related fields

Commercial driver's license with Air Brakes Endorsement

Ability to handle physical workload, must be able to lift 50+ pounds all day. Sometimes you work with a helper and sometimes you will have to work solo, meaning drive and collect at same time depending on size of route.

Strong work ethic, we need people that are at work every day and on time. We start at 5:45 am and are done when routes are complete. Generally, this is a 40-hour work week but expect overtime in Spring & Fall and during special projects

Knowledge of truck and equipment safety.

Knowledge of truck and equipment operation

Ability to read a map and navigate to your destination without the use of your smart phone.

Ability to use computerized software on tablet for collection reporting.

Must be able to follow directions, rules and policies.

Maintain your daily route sheets and any write ups for mechanic.
