Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Compound Dispensing Technician to join our 503A Retail/Compounding Pharmacy team in Albuquerque, NM. This role is responsible for accurately dispensing compounded medications, packaging, and preparing prescriptions for final verification by the pharmacist. Working Conditions: • Closed-door pharmacy; Monday–Friday only, no weekend or public interaction. • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and repetitive motion are required. • Use of PPE and adherence to cleanroom standards when handling compounded medications. Responsibilities: • Accurately dispense compounded prescriptions following standard operating procedures and under pharmacist supervision. • Perform final packaging, labeling, and preparation of compounded products for shipment or pick-up. • Work closely with compounding technicians and pharmacists to ensure prescription accuracy and compliance. • Maintain meticulous records of all dispensing activities in compliance with state and federal regulations. • Manage inventory of finished products, packaging supplies, and ensure proper stock rotation. • Support pharmacists in reviewing prescription instructions, dosage forms, and lot traceability. • Maintain clean and organized dispensing and storage areas in accordance with USP and pharmacy regulations. • Follow safety protocols when handling hazardous medications per USP <800> guidelines. • Assist with data entry and updating prescription records in pharmacy software systems. • Communicate with pharmacy staff and leadership to resolve issues and support workflow efficiency. Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent (required). • New Mexico Certified Pharmacy Technician license (required). • At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in a compounding or specialty pharmacy setting. • Strong understanding of pharmacy regulations and standards, including USP <795>, <797>, <800>, and DEA requirements. • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills. • Ability to follow complex instructions and standard operating procedures accurately. • Proficiency with pharmacy software systems is a plus. • Strong communication and teamwork skills in a collaborative, closed-door environment.
