  • Responsibilities

    The Compounding Supervisor oversees the production and mixing of gelatin products with a strong focus on the compounding and encapsulation processes, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently in compliance with company SOPs and cGMP.

    **This is an On-Site role in San Diego County. This person must be able to work 3rd shift and Saturday and Sundays**

    • Directs the day-to-day functions of a manufacturing team, ensuring production timelines are met and workflow is optimized.
    • Maintains rigorous product quality by enforcing compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Oversees the full softgel production cycle, including ingredient handling, blending, and material verification in alignment with production documentation.
    • Monitors critical parameters during mixing and encapsulation to uphold batch integrity and meet defined specifications.
    • Diagnoses and resolves equipment or procedural issues in accordance with operational protocols.
    • Promotes and ensures a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety policies.
    • Strictly follows all procedural documentation, including SOPs and GMP guidelines.
    • Immediately communicates any process irregularities to quality control and supervisory staff.
    • Accurately completes required documentation and logs associated with production.
    • Serves as a key contact between the manufacturing floor and maintenance team to ensure equipment readiness.
    • Drives initiatives focused on operational efficiency and cost reduction while maintaining or improving quality standards.
    • Actively supports the safety and health of fellow team members.
    • Flags safety concerns or mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.
    • Provides hands-on training and continuous development for team members.
    • Oversees equipment operation, ensuring it is used properly and maintained routinely.
    • Conducts quality checks to confirm finished products meet all established specifications.
    • Administers performance reviews, offering feedback and guidance through formal evaluations.
    • Analyzes workflow for bottlenecks or inefficiencies and proposes actionable solutions.
    • Trains new team members on machine operation and procedural compliance, with a focus on safety.
    • Reinforces strict adherence to workplace safety rules and corporate policies.
    • Takes on additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by leadership.

    Experience:

    • 3+ years’ direct experience with gel compounding, is required.
    • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
    • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
    • Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
    • Some mechanical experience is preferred.
    • Ability to read and write English.
    • Ability to understand and follow all company SOPs and cGMP guidelines.
    • Intermediate math skills (Multiplication, Division, Conversions and understanding weights and measures).

    Compensation: $70,000-80,000 base salary plus overtime and full benefits
