    JOB SUMMARY:

    In accordance with agency Mission, Vision, and Goals, the Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for overseeing billing accounts and helping departments resolve their revenue cycle problems. They oversee the billing teams that manage accounts, communications with insurance, collections, contract analysis, cash posting, billing transactions with clients and report creation. The Revenue Cycle Manager helps ensure that these areas run smoothly, and they must detect problems in the billing systems and correct them accordingly.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Supervises and manages daily activities of billing department staff. Hires, trains, and supervises competent accounts receivable staff providing leadership and guidance for staff.

    Ensure all services rendered are accurately captured in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and appropriate charges are expedited for payment and creates audit of checked-in patients to to charges to ensure all services are recorded and billed.

    Maintain current knowledge of state and federal billing guidelines. Maintain complete knowledge of the EHR to ensure optimization of A/R management. Manage communication with EHR support.

    Coordinate with the Quality Management department and provider credentialing to ensure all provider and facility data is current and correct for all active payers.

    Establish and maintain accounts receivable reporting highlighting key performance measurements within the department. Maintain monthly and weekly dashboards. Establish targets and benchmarks based on budget and grant expectations. Report outcome to leadership.

    Confirm all payments received are accurately posted in the E.H.R. within a timely manner. Manage daily deposits and over the counter cash to ensure all payments are accurately posted and balance to finance.

    Ensure all insurance adjustments and patient balance adjustments are within contractual guidelines and CMHS polices. Review third party Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) daily, compare ERAs to posting and verify all grant adjustments are performed accurately.

    Ensure third party denied claims are managed within the claims submission deadline and in accordance to CMHS polices. Verify daily submission of claims batches. Track claims denials and educate staff of outcome.

    Serves as a team member to establish, change, and implement new billing procedures. Demonstrates continuous efforts to improve operations and streamline work processes.

    Coordinates financial information to determine client’s ability to pay. Verifies client information is accurately transferred to computer system.

    Follows all agency policies and procedures including emergency and corporate compliance policies/procedures 100% of the time.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or health administration or equivalent work history.

    Experience:

    A minimum of five years of electronic billing experience; coding, billing, posting, and adjudication of claims.

    A minimum of two years of supervisory experience.

    Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the healthcare billing/revenue cycle process

    Proficient with MS Office suite of products including advanced skills with Excel.

    Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:

    None.

    Special Skills:

    Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid programs

    Medical billing experience

    Microsoft Word/Microsoft Excel

    Outstanding attention to detail

    Excelling time management skills

    Good key-boarding skills

    Typing accuracy

    Good organizational and communication skills

    REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

    Maintains standards of agency and policies and procedures.

    Must acquire and maintain required training per agency policy and DMH regulations to include documented

    attendance of professional development/training or education.
