    JOB SUMMARY

    In accordance with agency Mission, Vision, and Goals, this position is responsible for daily fiscal operations of the agency which includes timely preparation and analysis of financial statements for the Board of Directors and internal staff.

    PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

    Hires, trains and supervises competent Accounting staff. Approve all purchase requisitions and make certain that appropriate approval processes have been followed. Monitor accounts payable and the timely payment of bills in conjunction with the cash flow of the operations.

    Timely completion of daily accounting functions which include cash reports and cash flow sheet. Manage commercial banking relationships.

    Oversee the general accounting functions which include bank accounts, petty cash accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued assets, accrued payables, fixed assets, long-term liabilities, cash management, reconciliation and balance sheet management. General ledger line items will be monitored monthly for accuracy and appropriateness. Financial statements will be prepared timely and accurately one week before scheduled board meeting.

    Assist in the preparation and development of the budget, goals and objectives and long-range planning for the agency. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as needed for various contracts timely and accurately.

    Assist CFO with overall direction of accounts receivable. Carry out hiring, supervision, training of staff, work assignments, cash management and posting. Assist CFO in overseeing billing, collections and accounts receivable analysis.

    Insure that adequate insurance is in force to be in compliance with local, state, federal and life safety codes, as well as with our funding sources. All insurance policies will be renewed timely.

    Assists payroll position which includes software development and work assignments that ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting.

    Oversee preparation and timely filing of 401K bi-weekly contributions. Compile information for 5500’s, 125 Plan, LTD Plan and 401K reporting for the auditors.

    Coordinate and prepare annual financial statement and audit with auditors. Work with outside agencies that inspect and audit our financial and clinical records. Assist with preparation of annual tax returns for the corporations, employee benefit returns and assure that all filings are accurate and timely.

    Follows all agency policies and procedures including emergency and corporate compliance policies/procedures 100% of the time.

    III. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

    Provide assistance to the Chief Financial Officer for oversight of other business office positions as needed

    Other duties and special projects as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or business.

    Experience:

    Two to four years experience in financial or cost accounting.

    Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:

    CPA preferred but not required.

    Special Skills:

    Strong accounting and computer skills, 10-key by touch, Excel, Word Perfect or Word. Knowledge of relational databases required. Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Ability to maintain focus and organization of multiple projects simultaneously. Strong decision making and problem solving.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

    All staff are required to gain 6 hours of training in the area of Cultural Competency, every two years.
