    JOB SUMMARY

    In accordance with agency Mission, Vision, Values and Goals, the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Residential Supervisor provides guidance, supervision, and training for Mental Health Technicians (MHT) assigned. Provides oversight and support staff assisting residents with the achievement of treatment goals by insuring a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment within the program and insures all written documentation is clinically appropriate, correct, and meets agency standards. This position includes conducting interaction with clients at any time outside of completing assigned tasks. The person holding this position is expected to present as a model mental health technician for this program in fulfilling duties as well as showing self-initiative, professionalism, and positive leadership skills.

    PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

    Hires, trains, orients and supervises MHT staff for the program and ensures that there is adequate coverage for all shifts.

    Plans and completes shopping according to budget and menus. Ensures that food inventory is completed weekly according to budget and menus.

    Provides direct support/monitoring and develops supportive therapeutic relationship with residents in order to meet treatment plan goals in accordance with the policies of the facility and as agreed upon by the individual resident.

    Monitors and intervenes with clients at all times and ensures appropriate/acceptable behaviors are exhibited, physical and emotional security is assured.

    Coordinates client transportation needs provided by MHTs, ensures daily inspections of vehicles and tracks needed maintenance.

    Monitors and documents daily chore completion as designated by shift assignment, ensuring cleanliness of facility.

    Reports and documents observation accurately and completely in client chart in regards to client behavior or physical status. Ensures that shift reports are completed and documented appropriately. Any issues being reported to the Program Director in a timely fashion.

    Facilitates program, departmental and agency communication/operations through attendance at team meetings, all-staff meetings, inter-departmental consultation or committee/task team as assigned.

    Transport residents as directed by supervisor. Meet driver requirements.

    Follows all agency policies and procedures including emergency and corporate compliance policies/procedures 100% of the time.

    SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

    Serves as group educator in groups commensurate with skill and training.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education: A high school diploma, equivalency or life experience equivalency.

    Experience: A minimum of one year experience in working with clients with severe mental illness.

    Licensure, Certification, Registration: Medication Aide, CPR, First Aid, Non Violent Crisis Intervention.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Providers must meet requirements regarding experience and training when delivering services to specific age groups and treatment populations. The following criteria apply:

    Mental Health: Provider must maintain agency required trainings in seriously mental illness, dual diagnosis, or other related issues.

    Cultural Diversity Training: All providers must obtain a minimum of 6 hours, over a 2-year period, of professional development in the area of cultural diversity.

    Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): Certification is maintained.

    Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI): Certification is maintained.

    Medication Aid: Certification is maintained.

    First Aid: Certification is maintained

    Ethics: 3 hours annually

    Driving: Must maintain a valid Class E drivers license and clean driving record. Must pass a Department of Transportation physical as required by regulations and maintain MODot Certification.

    DEGREE OF SUPERVISION:

    This position is supervised by Program Director.

    POSITIONS SUPERVISED:

    This position supervises all of the MHT’s in the program.
