    JOB SUMMARY

    In accordance with the agency Mission, Vision, Values, and Goals, this position provides administrative and clinical oversight of the Treatment Family Care program which serves clients in various catchment areas in the Northwest Region of the State Department of Behavioral Health (DBH). The Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising providers who care for severely emotionally disturbed children determined to be in need of short term care in a structured home setting. Responsible for assuring that providers are compliant with State Department of Behavioral Health licensure, contract, and documentation standards and provide quality care for the children and youth in placement.

    PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

    Recruits and trains appropriate treatment family home (TFH) and professional parent home (PPH) in the Northwest Region of DBH. Arranges for and/or completes application, home study, and reference checks on all applicants. Ensures applicants comply with preliminary licensure and DBH inspection standards and training requirements.

    Recruits and trains appropriate respite care providers in the Northwest Region of DBH. Arranges for and/or completes initial application, home study, and reference checks. Ensure compliance with inspection and training standards.

    Supervises TFH, PPH and Respite providers in the Northwest Region through regular home visits, the monthly team meeting, DBH monitoring, and other contacts as directed by the treatment team.

    Arranges for and coordinates placement of eligible children and youth in TFH, PPH, and Respite homes. Coordinates with CMHS staff in other departments, case managers and staff from other community mental health centers, staff from the Regional DBH office and facilities, treatment family and respite providers, and family/guardian of child/youth.

    Ensures program efficiency and accountability through submission of prompt and accurate reports regarding program operations. This includes review and collection of provider billing documentation and monthly/annual program reports. Also participates in regular development and review of program goals and objectives.

    Ensures that program meets 100 % of budgetary and contractual expectations. Bills for allowable services provided and follows agency documentation timeliness requirements.

    Responsible for initiating, monitoring, and managing monthly billing to DBH and other Community Mental Health Centers in the Northwest Region for program services. Works closely with the Business Office and the DBH Regional Office to assure accurate and timely payments.

    Ensures quality standards are maintained and providers are in compliance with licensure, documentation, training and contract standards.

    Facilitates interagency communication by attending treatment meetings, Department meetings, and individual supervision.

    Follows all agency policies and procedures including emergency and corporate compliance policies/procedures 100% of the time.

    SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

    Serves as crisis backup for TFH/PPH Providers for children and youth in Treatment Family and Respite Care.

    May provide consultation/education for the community.

    All other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

    Experience:

    Four years of experience with children and youth in counseling, case management, and/or in-home services or foster care.

    Licenses, Certifications or Registrations:

    Preferred not required

    Special Skills:

    Highly organized, good oral and written communication, flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, good supervision skills, and knowledge and experience in youth and family counseling, child abuse/neglect issues.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION

    Obtain and maintain training in:

    a. First Aid (renewal every two years)

    b. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (renewal every two years)

    c. Cultural Competence (6 hours every two years)

    Required Relias trainings

    Must be able to work a flexible 40 hours work week and be available to Treatment Family/Respite providers 24 hours a day/7 day a week.

    DEGREE OF SUPERVISION

    Weekly supervision with the Director of Youth Services
