Outreach & Crisis Services Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY
In accordance with agency Mission, Vision, Values and Goals, the Outreach & Crisis Services Coordinator is responsible for the day to day activities of the Access/Crisis Intervention (ACI) Program to ensure ongoing quality emergency care and documentation. This includes Quality Management activities, scheduling of crisis teams and ensuring 24/7 coverage, follow up on referrals, satisfaction surveys and follow up with police departments, daily logs, reports, and all other assigned daily activities.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Provides oversight and coordinates daily activities of, ACI department, Department of Corrections referrals, and CIT referrals. Reviews daily faxes and directs services appropriately.
Assures that crisis staff is scheduled on a 24/7 and that all shifts are covered with a QMHP. Develops schedules and distributes monthly. Serves as consultative back up for crisis teams 24/7 and daytime crisis line.
Identifies, assesses, and resolves barriers within ACI program. Works as liaison with outside referral sources and attends any necessary meetings to enhance the relationship with these agencies.
Arranges and/or provides training for all Crisis Services staff members.
Maintains both program income and expenses within budgetary constraints.
Reviews documentation ensuring compliance with policy and QM.
Assists in writing and updating policies and procedures related to Crisis Services.
Produces management information reports, analysis, and recommendations for all aspects of crisis care within agency. Provides quarterly report to Department of Mental Health and CommCare for Crisis Services.
Follows all agency policies and procedures including emergency and corporate compliance policies/procedures 100% of the time.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Provides updated information regarding community resources and procedures for all potentially accessed resources, such as Inpatient and respite care facilities.
Serves as liaison between CMHS crisis system and other community or health care systems which may be accessed.
Attends related meetings, serves on committees for CMHS and other entities as needed or assigned to ensure smooth program operations. Provides feedback as to the efficacy of the system.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Master Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, or related field. Licensure is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of two years experience in mental health or related field, one year experience working with adult / adolescent populations
Minimum of one year working with Crisis or Inpatient populations
Minimum of one year supervisory experience
Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations
Licensed master or RN preferred

REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION
Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience. For continued competency, must attend a minimum of 6 hours every 2 years of workshop/in-service education related to this field or management/supervision. Must be able to be on call.
DEGREE OF SUPERVISION
Is supervised by the Program Coordinator and receives a minimum of one hour per month of supervisory counsel.
