    Job Summary

    In accordance with agency Mission, Vision, Values, and Goals. This position is responsible for assisting with telephone and/or face to face interviews on all persons requesting services.

    Primary Functions

    Assists in the coordination of intake services. Ensures program accountability and efficiency by maintaining documentation and prescreening all initial assessments to determine appropriate clinical and funding source assignments.

    Acts as a liaison between Intake Department and Clinical Services.

    Functions as a client advocate and assists clinical staff to serve consumers as promptly as possible.

    Assists in conducting initial contact screenings, and in processing admission paperwork for clients entering service through specialized clinical services area or program.

    Assists in insuring that individuals not seen by agency are appropriately referred to other community resources. This includes providing assistance to courts and other public agencies for persons being referred for services.

    Follows all Utilization Management procedures as outlines by both internal and external reviews.

    Follows all agency policies and procedures including emergency and corporate compliance policies/ procedures 100% of the time.

    Provides training to CMHS staff in intake procedures, as needed.

    Participates on assigned CMHS committees as needed.

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology or closely related field.

    Experience: One year experience in Human Services preferable, but not required. Would except in lieu of a degree, five years of proven Human Services employment background.

    License, Certification or Registration: Not required for this position.

    Special Skills:

    Ability to evaluate the emotional state of a client and make appropriate recommendations for referral.

    Crisis intervention skills

    Interviewing skills

    Ability to retain self-composure when dealing with persons under stress.

    Good verbal and written communication skills.

    Ability to work cooperatively.

    Knowledge of community resources.

    Requirements for position

    CPR training required every two years.

    Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training required every two years.

    Three hours of Cultural Competency training/education required annually.

    Degree of Supervision

    This position reports to the Intake & Access Coordinator.
