    JOB SUMMARY

    In accordance with agency Mission, Vision, Values and Goals, the SUD Intake Supervisor ensures intake staff, at both KC and Independence locations are gathering information, conducting the intake and the initial orientation of the program to determine each client’s need for treatment and level of care. SUD Intake supervisor will oversee intake specialist staff, outreach access specialist and diagnostician.

    PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

    Hires, trains and supervises competent staff at both Independence and KC locations.

    Provides individual and group supervision and training to all team staff weekly or as appropriate. Ensures intake staff appropriately documents all intake/program activities according to quality standards. Ensures all intake staff complete documentation within 48 hours of providing the services.

    Completes intakes as needed. Intake services may include case management, outreach and crisis management. Coordinates intake process: receives referral information, evaluates program eligibility according to admission criteria; determines and implements correct funding source, orients new admission as to program services, expectations and goals; utilizes information gathered during intake in establishing treatment plans and oversees census to all residential programs.

    Oversees all internal and external referrals and assign them accordingly. Will ensure staff communicate with internal staff about referral and keep open communication. Will ensure staff are communicating with outside referral sources as well.

    Oversees intake staff assigning clients to a primary clinician and/or CSS most appropriate to support the client’s needs or requests. Ensures paperwork is submitted as defined by departmental procedures and DMH regulations and information is entered in the EMR correctly.

    Ensures that intake staff completes tasks as assigned (ie: discharge summaries, outreach and engagement, follow up calls to clients, providing resources to clients, etc.) Will sign off on EMR notes as needed. Ensures all phone messages are being returned daily.

    Completes all necessary reports to ensure staff compliance of required documentation standards. These reports are, but not limited to: duplicate services report, non-final approved report, timeliness and productivity. Will maintain and track daily census for residential as well as outpatient programs.

    Participates in and meets ethical/agency standards regarding all treatment and documentation practices, QA/QI procedures, utilization management, emergency procedures, and program/client outcomes.

    Will manage priority wait list and report to Department of Mental Health weekly. Will run COMBAT report and send to COMBAT once monthly.

    Follows all agency policies and procedures including emergency and corporate compliance policies/procedures 100% of the time.

    SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

    Attends and participates in weekly treatment team meetings and management council meetings when scheduled.

    Work with audit team to ensure all paperwork is being completed correctly.

    Continue to be educated on medications for SUD and OUD.

    All other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

    Minimum Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, counseling preferred.

    Experience:

    Preferably 2 years experience in the provision of mental health/substance abuse treatment services.

    Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:

    Addictions certification required.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

    This is a full-time (40 hrs/week) position.

    Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation: Renewal every 2 years

    First Aid: Renewal every 2 years

    Cultural Competency: All agency staff are required to gain 3 hours annually of staff development training in the area of Cultural Competency.

    Training which meets yearly standards of 36 hours every two years of training related to substance abuse/treatment, 10 hours of which meet be outside training.

    Ethics – 3 hours annually

    DEGREE OF SUPERVISION:

    This position reports to the Program Director, who provides weekly supervision.
