    MEDIA SPECIALIST II CHICAGO IL 60604

    6 MONTHS

     

    JOB SUMMARY

     

    ·         Contributes to planning, creating, evaluating, and implementing communications projects and outreach activities with the media to enhance public understanding.

    ·         Works across media channels to engage audiences.

    ·         Develops statements and other content for management review and approval for release to the media.

    ·         Works with Bank management and teams to coordinate planning and to ensure that the Bank's public outreach and the release of information to the media is appropriate and effective.

    ·         The level of work is considered intermediate and staff must be able to work under general supervision.

    ·         This position has no direct reports.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    ·         Plans, creates, and initiates communications projects/materials such as news releases and media alerts and social media posts, aids on the development of more complex, high-level communication projects.

    ·         Conducts initial intake process for interview requests and coordinates interviews with Bank staff members.

    ·         Monitors, compiles, and analyses media activities.

    ·         Supports the development of the editorial calendar and other planning processes.

    ·         Oversees day-to-day activities to carry out program objectives; works with manager to establish policies and procedures for communications programs with media.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

     

    ·         Bachelor's degree or work equivalent in journalism, communications, public relations, or related communications field.

    ·         3 to 5 years of related experience

    ·         Background in economics, finance and/or banking preferred.

    ·         Strong relationship building skills.
