    Job Description

    CCI has a Client who is seeking (1) ONE temporary full time equivalent (FTE) branch project manager to assist the Agency to perform activities related to the System Services Branch’s (SSB) projects as well as operations support (up to 992 hours total). Branch project manager is anticipated to provide support during a time framing starting on June 1, 2019 and end on November 30, 2019. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed on state holidays. Compensation will be at an hourly rate and the branch project manager will be based at the, Kalanimoku Building located at Punchbowl Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813. 

    Client provides governance for executive branch IT projects and seeks to identify, prioritize and advance innovative initiatives with the greatest potential to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve transparency and accountability in state government. 

    Client’ mission is to support the management and operation of State agencies by providing effective, efficient, coordinated and cost-beneficial information technology services such that State program objectives may be efficiently achieved. 

    Expectations/Responsibilities: 

    All projects managed by the Project Manager are related to the Mainframe hardware, software, and operations. The tasks and deliverables are listed below (not limited to): 

    • Manages staff on various projects and ensuring ensures the sprint of the project is completed on time. 

    • Motivates team members to avoid any issues that degrade employees’ performance. 

    • Modifies work-pressure and timelines to keep the pace and assigns tasks to individual and balances the workload. 

    • Manages issues and escalating to the right authorities. 

    • Communicates changes to the stakeholders. 

    • Manages approvals for required resources from the authorized people. 

    • Prepares project plans and ensure the project plan is being followed. If any changes required, ensures changes are updated in the project plan and communicated to all. 

    • Identifies risks and develops risk management plans. 

    • Resolves issues and ensures any interpersonal conflict, political issues, technical skill scarcity, shortage of the budget should not harm the project.

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 5 years Mainframe experience 
    • 2 years COBOL experience 
    • MARKIV/COBOL/AS400 system expertise 
    • IBM Mainframes/ MVS/ TSO/ JCL/ VSAM/ OS390/ JCL/ SQL/ QMF/ SEU
