We are seeking a skilled,highly motivated, Laboratory Analyst with a great attitude to join our ECD Team!

JOB PURPOSE

The ECD Analyst perform environmental analyses and/ or preps samples using standard analytical techniques in compliance with Con-Test Analytical Laboratory’s Quality Assurance programs and Standard Operating Procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adherence to health and safety guidelines as appropriate to job function.
• Perform routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs to include:
  • Preparation of samples using standard techniques, following standard operating procedures.
  • Performing chemical solutions, standards, dilutions; following standard operating procedures.
  • Data evaluation, Data reporting / uploading into data reporting system.
  • Reporting data, and any unusual test occurrences to department manager.
  • Conforming to laboratory QA/QC practices.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping in work area/department.
  • Ability to perform instrument maintenance, including; Gas Chromatography.
  • GC Maintenance / Trouble shooting.
  • Batching instruments, assisting laboratory technician.
  • Ensuring instruments are running following benchmarks, and optimized to ensure clients needs are met.
  • Reporting full data packages, including uploading calibration curves and data.
  • Work with department manager to create efficiency gains to reduce down times and costs.
  • Working with department manager to create daily batches to ensure client needs are met, along with method requirements.
  • SOP updating.
  • Attending outside training seminars.
  • Training new personal.
  • Working with department manager to ensure benchmarks are met and methods/instruments/protocols continuously improve.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Education: BS/BA in Chemistry or related field and/or minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting

• Initiative and self-motivation

• Effective Communication skills

• Computer Skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to prioritize

• Problem solving skills

• Able to work as the team and/or independently.

• Valid Driver’s License

• Background Check Required

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work performed in prep lab where samples and chemicals are handled regularly. Full laboratory PPE must be worn at all times

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• May be required to stand for long periods of time.
• Minor lifting
• Constant use of hands and handling of samples

HOURS OF WORK

Tuesday- Saturday 9 AM- 3 PM (hours will be finalized at time of hire)
