  • Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of our manufacturing plant, including assessment of facility resource requirements, design and optimization of the facility layout and critical operational systems, and oversight of the maintenance of infrastructure and equipment. Employees should be able to develop and implement utility plans, perform system evaluations, establish operational efficiency and possess excellent project management skills and knowledge of structural code requirements.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Gathering and analyzing data, blueprints, and reports.
    • Determining facility and equipment specifications.
    • Analyzing project costs and preparing budgets.
    • Designing and overseeing the implementation of facility expansion, layout, various systems, and quality controls.
    • Evaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.
    • Developing processing plans and optimizing resource allocation.
    • Planning and coordinating infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
    • Coordinating and overseeing contractors performing maintenance activities.
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
    • Preparing reports and compliance documentation.
    • Ensure facilities equipment availability is over 95 %, implement and execute preventive and predictive maintenance program.
    • Support 24X7 production for Monroe and CCD production sites. Delegate the work effectively and efficiently.
    • Assists in assuring all facilities equipment is safe for employees to operate. Replaces or repairs inoperative or malfunctioned equipment.
    • Manage documentation to verify PM has been performed to ISO / TS specifications. Abides by ConMet quality policy with reference to ISO / TS work instructions.
    • Manager work order, maintenance software and assists contractors on-site as needed.
    • Conducts safety meetings and performs monthly safety checks to stay in compliance with the ConMet safety program. Assists in training of employees and safety.
    • Assists in applying all federal regulations that would influence ConMet with safety and environmental issues. Assists in OSHA, EPA, and other government regulated inspections.
    • Expresses a willingness to assist in all operations of manufacturing product at ConMet.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or similar degree.
    • At least 3 years of applicable experience in facilities engineering or a similar role.
    • Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and MS Office.
    • Knowledge of the building process and construction principles.
    • Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Project management skills.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Ability to work in a highly responsive manner and ensure production schedules are met.
    • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and other technical drawings in a problem solving context.
    • Ability to lead contractors while under the pressures of a production schedule, directing others through instruction and by example.
    • Willingness to support activities on other shifts and on weekends as schedules require.
    • Ability to communicate on a technical level to vendors over the phone, by email, and in person.
    • Knowledge of safety and federal regulations to insure compliance in existing operations and new upcoming projects.
    • Visual acuity necessary for detailed part inspection.
    • Ability to follow written work instructions.
    • Forklift license is beneficial but not required.

    Environmental & Physical Demands

    • Occupational noise exposure is high during performance of most required duties. Adequate hearing protection is provided and required at all times.
    • Occupational exposure to fumes and dust is regularly encountered. Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses and steel-toed, industrial footwear is required at all times.
    • Some duties require reaching and lifting of objects up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
