Conception is a California company dedicated to delivering a wide variety of Cannabis tissue cultured clones to the quickly growing market. Through micropropagation/ tissue culture methods; the Conception team quickly multiples unique, market viable varieties in sterile environments. At Conception we invest heavily in research and development, leveraging IP and the latest, most advanced technologies. Our core focus is characterizing and developing elite varieties while constantly improving our efficiency in plant production. By reducing our cost, we can then share value with our growers.

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to perform financial planning and analysis of the company, allowing the organization to make well-informed commercial decisions. This key role will be expected to produce regular reports using financial data, and work collaboratively across the entire finance team to analyze business performance and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for financial reporting and control.

• Perform financial modeling functions

• Controlling the Capitalization table providing an analysis of a company's percentages of ownership, equity dilution, and value of equity in each round of investment by founders, investors, and other owners

• Understand and apply complex concepts. Identify risks, propose recommendations and solutions to issues.

• Implement solutions for problem resolution. Complete a broad range of financial services and deliverables. Assess reasonableness and relevance of financial assumptions with limited supervision.

• Prepare and analyze account reconciliations promptly. Assure availability of timely and well-presented, high-quality actual P&L, balance sheet, and sales detail results vs. current and prior year benchmarks as well as trended information.

• Maintain controls to assure the integrity of assets and the compliance with GAAP.

• Ability to analyze and interpret data and make recommendations.

• Responsible for compliance with applicable policies and performing other duties as assigned by management.

• Analysis and approval of project expenditures as well as invoicing per contracted billing milestones.

• Review billing milestones upon each budget change to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

• Review and approve project expenditure items for billing on a regular basis.

• Provide financial tracking and maintenance support to executive team.

Experience and Skills

• Ability to analyze and interpret data.

• Experience with financial modeling

• Ability to manage a capitalization table (or cap table)

• Ability to plan, implements, and administer financial information and control systems. Knowledge of the principles, processes, and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting.

• Experience with statistical analysis and financial forecasting

• Proficient in Excel. Understanding of financial accounting systems, preferably SAP and PeopleSoft.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of pricing/budgeting tools and how to reflect operational changes in the tools

• Well-experienced with Microsoft suite of products

• Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance. MBA or MSA preferred
