    Concrete Estimator – Shell Contractor - Base Salary to 80k/year + Bonus – Stuart, FL

    • My client is a Shell Contractor that specializes in Concrete, Masonry and Framing scopes and has 75 + years of combined experience in the commercial and residential construction industry in Florida.

    • Currently they are looking for a Concrete Estimator to join their team due to growth. As an Estimator you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs associated with concrete construction projects, ensuring bids are competitive yet profitable. This role requires a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills, with understanding of construction methods and materials.

    Responsibilities:

    • Project Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work, materials required, and construction methods.
    • Quantitative Analysis: Perform quantity take-offs and calculations for materials, reinforcement, formwork, and other related items using appropriate software and tools.
    • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals based on labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Ensure estimates are competitive yet profitable.
    • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors. Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve the best value for the project.
    • Bid Preparation: Compile all necessary documentation, including bid forms, specifications, and supporting documents. Ensure bids are submitted on time and comply with client requirements.
    • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and opportunities during the estimating process. Provide recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance project profitability.
    • Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to clarify project requirements and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise during the estimating process.
    • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material costs.

    Qualifications:

    • 1+ years of experience in the construction industry.
    • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required. Will look at experience over degree.
    • Experience using estimating software and ability to learn new software.
    • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

    Compensation & Benefits:

    • Base salary ranges from $65k - $80k or more depending on experience.
