POSITION SUMMARY
The Concrete Foreman leads field crews in the layout, preparation, and execution of concrete operations including flatwork, curb, sidewalk, and structural concrete. This role is responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, on grade, and in compliance with project specifications, ADA requirements, and company standards. The Foreman drives production, enforces safety, maintains quality control, and develops crew members, while coordinating daily operations, materials, equipment, and communication with project stakeholders.
YOUR ROLE
- Leads layout and execution of flatwork, curb, sidewalk, and structural concrete forms.
- Sets and verifies forms to proposed elevations using smart levels, string lines, and grade stakes.
- Reads and interprets plans and specifications to confirm dimensions, grades, slopes, and finish requirements.
- Directs installation of rebar, expansion joints, dowels, anchors, and embedded items per specifications.
- Oversees concrete placement including screeding, finishing, and curing to meet quality standards.
- Conducts quality control checks to ensure proper elevation, drainage, finish consistency, and ADA compliance.
- Coordinates concrete pours including truck staging, placement sequence, and crew readiness.
- Ensures proper form bracing and pour preparation to prevent movement or blowouts.
- Verifies grade transitions between curb, ramps, and flatwork for ADA and drainage compliance.
- Assigns daily tasks, tools, and equipment based on crew skill level and production goals.
- Communicates clear expectations and holds crew accountable to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Trains and mentors Leadman and crew on layout, grade reading, and finishing techniques.
- Provides ongoing feedback to support crew development and performance.
- Enforces safety policies including PPE, silica exposure, fall protection, confined space, and traffic control.
- Conducts daily site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinates material deliveries and verifies quantities, timing, and readiness for pours.
- Oversees use and maintenance of equipment including skid steers, vibrators, screeds, and saws.
- Submits accurate production tracking, material usage, and timekeeping using iPad/HCSS systems.
- Leads daily D10 meetings, communicates goals, and tracks production progress with Superintendent.
- Participates in short-term planning, sequencing, and material coordination.
- Interfaces professionally with inspectors, city representatives, and project stakeholders.
- Maintains clean, organized, and safe jobsites that reflect E-Z Bel standards.
- Troubleshoots routine field issues related to layout, subgrade conditions, and materials.
- Supports Superintendent with plan interpretation and field adjustments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years of concrete construction experience (Level-dependent progression).
- Proven experience in form setting, finishing, and layout for civil concrete work.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, elevations, and specifications.
- Knowledge of ADA, TxDOT, OSHA, and local municipality standards.
- Experience leading crews and coordinating field operations.
- Proficiency with construction technology (HCSS, iPad, digital plans).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed outdoors year-round in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and other harsh environments. Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods. Regularly lifts and carries up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance while handling tools, materials, and equipment. Must tolerate dust, noise, vibration, and maintain situational awareness around moving equipment, open trenches, and active traffic.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
May require travel within Texas. Overnight or out-of-town stays may be needed based on project location.
