Concrete Foreman — Commercial Projects

About the Role

Hood Construction is hiring an experienced Concrete Foreman to lead field crews on commercial building projects in the Columbia area. You'll direct concrete operations from footings and foundations through flatwork and vertical placements, ensuring every pour meets Hood's standards for quality, safety, and schedule.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and direct concrete crews on commercial construction sites
• Oversee all phases of concrete work including foundations, slabs, walls, columns, and flatwork
• Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and project specifications
• Coordinate with project superintendents, subcontractors, and inspectors to maintain schedule
• Monitor concrete mix designs, placement methods, and curing procedures
• Inspect formwork, rebar placement, and embedments prior to pours
• Enforce jobsite safety standards and OSHA regulations
• Track daily production, document field reports, and communicate progress to project management
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively to avoid delays or rework

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in commercial concrete work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Demonstrated knowledge of concrete forming systems, reinforcing, and finishing techniques
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and project specifications
• Strong understanding of ACI standards, building codes, and jobsite safety requirements
• Proven ability to manage crews, coordinate with other trades, and maintain production schedules
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• ACI Flatwork Finisher certification or equivalent a plus
