JOB DESCRIPTION
A dynamic boutique communications firm specializing in the financial services industry is seeking a smart, confident project manager. You’ll be working with some of the biggest names in financial services, so it’s important to hit the ground running. You’ll be required to take projects and own them… from participating in initial client input meetings to supporting the creative team when brainstorming creative concepts and seeing them through their execution. Projects may include the coordination of integrated marketing campaigns, organization of photo/video shoots, advertising and direct mail and digital communications. Strong interpersonal skills are a must as you will be a liaison between clients and the agency.
At the current time, a hybrid/work-from-home model is in place, but you’ll ultimately be able to work in our loft office space in New York’s Flatiron District (though some work-from-home flexibility will be preserved) alongside a team of smart, fun and talented individuals who collaborate to deliver a high-quality work product for the agency’s financial services clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Day-to-day responsibility of projects and trafficking of all aspects of work related to the project:
- Manage the agency’s client relationship as well as regular ongoing communication about projects
- Coordinate the project team including creative, production, administration and billing
- Write communications strategy statements, creative briefs and presentation decks
- Develop project milestones and budgets; ensure projects are on time and within budget
- Maintain, document and communicate project status (internally and externally) including issues, deliverables and project progression
- Partner with the production team to develop specifications for projects, including sourcing print and mail quotes (supported by internal production resources)
- Write print purchase orders and data and lettershop instructions
- Review, analyze and summarize data programming output reports
- Review vendor invoices and prepare client invoices
Oversee creative development and production:
- Gather client input, draft and present communications strategy
- Run project kick-off meetings
- Partner with creative resources to brainstorm concepts, channels and tactics and execute creative assets for all channels
- In concert with client partners, prepare digital assets for deployment across multiple channels
- Review interim creative development with creative team and present finished concepts to client
- Work with photographers, video production team, printers and mailhouses on all aspects of print and digital asset production
- Collaborate with media placement associates
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- 3+ years’ experience in an advertising or marketing agency or from a similar position within a corporation preferred; familiarity with financial services, insurance, B-to-B and B-to-C communications is a strong plus
- Articulate communicator with strong verbal and written skills
- College graduate preferred
- Outstanding time management, organizational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced atmosphere, managing multiple priorities for different clients in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent ability to prepare clear and concise client-ready documents
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat
- Social media marketing experience preferred
- Proven ability to create and maintain great client relationships
- Strong attention to detail and a sense of humor
- Self-starter candidates with less experience will be considered, though compensation is commensurate with experience
