    A manufacturing company in Toronto, ON is looking for a Buyer to join the team!

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Review MRP (Material Requirements Planning) Report daily and use it to develop purchase orders and meet production needs.

    Monitor purchase orders and liaise between suppliers and Apollo staff.

    Coordinate with internal staff to review and maintain adequate supplies in order to meet production requirements, while keeping inventory to a minimum.

    Multi-source materials to ensure low risk and negotiate the best price possible

    Attend and participate in daily production meetings and weekly new product meetings

    Enforce vendor compliance

    Assist with Material Requisition Forms (MRF)

    Meet/communicate with suppliers in order to discuss new business, negotiate contract prices, etc. in a cost effective manner considering the level of demand, warehouse space available and current inventory levels

    Interact with vendors and address, respond, manage, prioritize and follow up on inquiries/problems in order to ensure a positive relationship with the suppliers

    Solicit and analyze supplier quotes and award new business

    Monitor Material Requirement Planning (MRP) requirements such as additions, changes and deletions to meet production needs

    Liaise with Warehouse staff to optimize space allocation (shared responsibility)

    Manage and keep all inventories current and up to date

    Monitor and expedite delivery dates, arrange transportation details with suppliers

    Verify and authorize invoices

    Verify inventory as required

    General office administration and backup coverage for other Buyers on the Purchasing Team as required

    Other projects as assigned

    Perform other duties as assigned

    Education & Experience

    ° University degree in a related field

    ° 5 years work experience in a purchasing role

    ° Experience in purchasing in low cost countries with long lead times

    ° Experience purchasing components such as packaging, labels, etc a strong asset.

    ° Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize

    ° Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Project)
