    Configuration Logistics Technician

     

    Position Overview:
    The Configuration Logistics Technician is responsible for performing a combination of IT equipment configuration and logistics tasks to support customer deployments. This includes pre-configuring devices, managing inventory, shipping and receiving, and ensuring quality control throughout the process. The role requires attention to detail, physical capability, and a customer-focused mindset.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Follow documented work instructions to configure and provision IT devices based on customer specifications.
    • Perform basic kitting, unboxing, re-boxing, and preparation of equipment for shipment.
    • Clean, test, and inspect IT devices to ensure proper functionality.
    • Prepare shipments using the most efficient and economical methods; pack items securely and accurately.
    • Use scan guns and inventory systems to receive, pick, and track items.
    • Compare incoming shipments against purchase orders and escalate discrepancies.
    • Deliver items internally and externally, obtaining necessary signatures.
    • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and forklifts.
    • Maintain a secure and organized facility, monitoring inbound/outbound materials and personnel.
    • Participate in team meetings and suggest process improvements.
    • Occasionally operate company vehicles for deliveries.
    • Assist with routine maintenance of equipment and general facility upkeep.

    • Basic understanding of IT and logistics protocols.
    • Aptitude to learn IT disciplines and warehouse systems.
    • Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
    • Ability to operate warehouse equipment and drive box trucks.


    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Valid Driver’s License (less than 6 points).
    • Entry-level position with on-the-job training and certification opportunities.
    • Prior experience in logistics, warehouse, or IT configuration preferred but not required.


    Physical Requirements:

    • Moderate physical effort including lifting up to 75 lbs.
    • Frequent standing, bending, and transporting IT equipment.
    • Occasional use of basic tools and cleaning solutions.
    • Work may involve exposure to dust, temperature changes, and minimal physical risks.
