    Job Description

    Position: Conflict Analyst

    Purpose of the Position

    The Conflicts Analyst supports the firm’s conflict of interest review process by researching, analyzing, and processing conflict checks related to new clients, matters, and lateral hires. This role ensures compliance with ethical standards and firm policies while assisting attorneys and staff with conflict-related inquiries.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct conflict checks using the firm’s conflicts system, utilizing common conflicts variations and search techniques
    • Review, analyze, and clear conflict search results; identify, evaluate, and summarize potential conflict issues for review by the General Counsel
    • Perform background research using online database (Westlaw)
    • Conduct due diligence searches on clients and parties involved in new and existing matters.
    • Ensure conflict checks and NBI requests move through the intake process successfully, following up with attorneys and team members as needed to resolve outstanding issues
    • Support the General Counsel in resolving potential conflict issues
    • Process New Business Intake (NBI) matter openings by reviewing engagement letters and ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity within the firm’s systems
    • Provide high-level conflict-related support to attorneys, legal assistants, senior management, and the accounting department
    • Assist with additional research, reporting and special projects as needed

    Education, Experience, Skills

    • 2+ years of conflict check experience across various areas of law or 3+ years of experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a related legal support role
    • Familiarity of legal ethics rules and professional responsibility standards
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team-oriented environment
    • Flexible to work overtime as needed
