Why it’s a big deal… ****
Simply, joining the global sales leadership team is a highly visible role and is critical to Conga’s success. The VP of GTM Strategy and Field Operations role plays a critical role in ensuring that the field is executing at a world-class level, that core strategic levers are being actioned and executed against and that we are prioritizing global enablement efforts in keeping with the realities of the field.
Are you the person we’re looking for? ****
Quality Oriented. You move fast enough that you occasionally make mistakes; when you do, you own them and use them as an opportunity for growth. You then improve processes to drive even higher quality deliverables. It’s your transparency, authenticity and humility that sets you apart from the rest. You’re comfortable saying “I don’t know,” and “Help me understand.”
Resourceful & Collaborative. **** At Conga, we achieve together. When you have questions, you ask and find answers; when you’re faced with challenges, you collaborate and find solutions. You turn to a variety of resources, including your colleagues, professional network, the Internet, articles, books -- whatever helps you get the job done. You apply your learnings across the business where it makes sense.
Strong Attention to Detail. Any successful GTM strategy has tremendous complexity. You aren’t thrown off by complexity and instead welcome solving complex problems with enough attention to detail to ensure that Conga is executing, not just well, but exceptionally. You know how to drive meaningful change, balancing the need to stay high-enough level to ensure strong throughput, while also knowing where to dive into the weeds to ensure solid execution.
Here’s what will give you an edge…
Passion. We know it when we see it. Passion is not about saying how much you love what you do in your most excited voice. Passion is revealed in your truest self. It’s about what you’ve accomplished; how you want to grow; the ideas you have; your philosophies. It’s demonstrating through your words and your actions that you truly believe in what you do -- and where you work. That it matters to you. And that’s pretty cool.
Initiative. You don’t wait around for things to happen or for your manager to tell you what to do. You’re not only proactive about completing your own work, but when you sense the need to introduce a project that will benefit the team or the organization -- even if it’s outside your scope of work -- you put a proposal together, talk to the team about it, and own it. And that also goes back to having an entrepreneurial spirit.
Experience. You have 7-10+ years of senior leadership in GTM Strategy and Operations. You can clearly demonstrate where you have driven large and meaningful initiatives, including a solid quantitative and qualitative understanding of impact to the business. You are humble and have learned from past success and failure. You have broad business experience and understand cross-functional impact of initiatives, informed by both experience and education. A Master’s degree/MBA is not required but is strongly preferred for this role.
