The functioning of the Publicity Assistant is primarily clerical and will be done outside Ner Shalom using your own equipment in your own location where you have dependable internet access. Tasks concentrate on submitting supplied information and photographs about events at Ner Shalom to a variety of online calendars and sending that information and photographs to various recipients via email. Various clerical tasks will be assigned to update and organize the lists of media outlets we use. The flow of work will be sporadic, probably 20 hours to be done at the start, and then maybe 15 hours per month going forward.
Skills: Must be able to use Excel, Word, Google Sheets. It would be very helpful to be able to use Photoshop or other flexible image editing software. Excellent spoken and written English, clear speaking voice, correct pronunciation and grammatically correct spoken and written English.
Your supervisor will be a mature, compassionate public relations/marketing professional with high expectations for follow-through, accuracy, and a pleasant personality.

We host concerts, evenings of comedy and events resonating with Jewish historical and cultural patterns as fundraisers. The Publicity Assistant will be supporting those efforts.
While this set of tasks is primarily clerical, there may be room for professional growth and more creative assignments in both writing and image development.
