    The Role
    Seeking a full-time Senior Accountant who will be responsible for many aspects of general ledger activities such as AR, AP, inventory, purchasing, month-end close, and account reconciliations. This role handles significant GL responsibilities that provide for high visibility. The position reports to the VP of Finance and works closely with all departments within the company. The ideal candidate is a strong analytical and strategic thinker who will be working closely with the leadership team in architecting the financial engine that will drive business results. This job is a high visibility role that will receive a lot of attention from our investors and board members.

    Responsibilities

    • Managing daily AR and AP transactions timely and effectively
    • Book all accrual, prepaid, fixed assets items as necessary and perform month-end recon on these accounts
    • Perform payroll reconciliation and propose payroll JEs into ERP
    • Responsible for month end close of the general ledger, including but not limited to, preparing, and posting journal entries, preparing supporting schedules and reports
    • Match and reconcile bank transactions in ERP for month-end cash reconciliation
    • Reconcile and record all credit card transactions and monitor compliance with corporate card receipt policy
    • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts such as cash, credit card payables, inventory, & debt liabilities, etc.
    • Ensure daily inventory transactions are accurately captured in the ERP
    • Review purchase orders, inventory invoices, and serve as liaison between Operations and Accounting
    • Prepare journal entries including inventory adjustments, reserves, cost of goods sold, etc.
    • Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
    • Review financial statements and provide variance analysis to departments within the company
    • Assist in the implementation of a new ERP; perform special projects as assigned

      Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 5-7+ years of related experience in accounting (public accounting and/or startup experience is a plus)
    • Strong accounting (US GAAP) knowledge
    • Previous experience with hardware/physical goods technology companies
    • Previous experience with inventory management and COGs
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Experience working with accounting systems; excellent Excel skills
    • Work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, detail-oriented and organized
    • A positive, proactive, fun, and team-focused attitude
    • Knowledge of NetSuite a plus
    • A CPA certification is preferred
