    Payroll Manager

    My client is seeking a Payroll Manager whom will oversee and supervise the organizations payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. 

    Activities:

    • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the payroll department.
    • Oversees the daily workflow of the department; provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
    • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, time & attendance, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
    • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
    • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
    • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
    • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors to include 401(k), worker’s compensation and general liability.
    • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
    • Ensure the accuracy of payroll accruals (i.e. vacation, sick, etc.)
    • Maintain current knowledge of company policies and procedures, employee handbooks, and benefit plans. 

    Requirements

    • Minimum 8 years of previous experience
    • Proven knowledge of 401(k) practices, standards, laws, and regulations
    • Highly knowledgeable on Nevada payroll laws and regulations
    • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes for a company with at least 700 employees.
    • Time and attendance and PTO experience with multiple branches and locations
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Proficient with payroll software, preferably Paylocity
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
