PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position will be responsible for support on procurement efforts for the North America Operations. Main duties on procurement in the areas of: packaging, and other necessary tools for the proper and efficient function of warehouse and fresh cut operations in the North America Division.  In this role, will also serve as a liaison between Del Monte and its vendors when seeking to research, evaluate, negotiate purchases, and packaging traceability.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Strong clerical skills for high volume data entry, run/create reports and statistics to analyze trends as needed.
• Generate forecasts for BPO creation.
• Process purchase orders, and follow up with vendors and end-users throughout the procurement process.
• Process purchase requisitions, and follow up with vendors, purchasing team and end-users throughout the procurement process.
• Report and escalate any potential purchase order issues, as related to non-compliance on lead times, need-by-dates, and price increases.
• Comply with all purchasing policies and procedures.
• Generate reporting as needed.
• Distribute reports and provide support on the JIT packaging system.
• Provide support on inter facility movement on packaging.
• Follow up on credit requests.
• Assist in new vendor creation.
• Assist Director with any problem solving matters, including those related to transportation and shipping.

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 4 year college degree in a related field, from an accredited institution, and/or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent analytical, communication (i.e. written and oral) and organizational skills.
• High competency with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook).

PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

• Oracle platform experience.

Required Skills Required Experience

 TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

1. Bachelors Degree in Communications or Marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. At least 5-10 years of experience in a marketing agency or corporate marketing setting. Strong knowledge of Business to Consumer and Business to Business marketing.
3. Previous experience in health care/managed care industry desirable.
4. Must possess strong team orientation and excellent interpersonal, problem solving and influence skills.
5. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills including promotional and information. Needs to be able to present and sell marketing ideas with conviction, confidence and passion.
6. Ability to regularly exercise good judgment and discretion in order to manage projects
7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
8. Strong strategic and creative orientation.
9. Excellent understanding of new marketing tactics both online, social media, web, as well as traditional marketing.
10. Ability to manage staff and have potential to grow into supervisory role.
11. Strong project management and process improvement skills.
