R&D OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE This role will focus on the characterization of materials and devices for the continued development of cell encapsulation technology. The individual will be required to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and will have the ability to utilize a variety of analytical tools as well as perform a variety of laboratory procedures according to prescribed protocols with an evolving ability to work independently. The position will be located in Providence, R.I

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Bio-fabrication of medical devices in a clean room setting

• Conduct material / device properties evaluations including mechanical and viscosity testing, FTIR, DSC, SEM, TGA and other evaluations as necessary.

• Maintains glassware by cleaning and washing.

• Maintains a sterile environment in the clean room, by garbing and behaving according to clean room procedures that align with guidelines.

• Comply with all Policies including Health, Safety, and Environmental Regulations, Personal Protective Equipment Requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures.

• Ensure upkeep of Work Areas to allow for a clean, safe, and organized Work Environment.

• Review and train to Work Instructions and other relevant documents on an as-needed basis.

• Prioritize and plan work activities, and adapt to changing schedules and other conditions, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma; Some college

• Excellent verbal and written communication; demonstrable English reading and writing skills.

• Proven ability to monitor own Work Product, ensuring quality, accuracy, and thoroughness; able to self-motivate and work independently or as part of a larger Team.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task; comfortable with changing Work Environments and priorities.

• Flexible to work overtime and very rarely, weekend work

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

• Self-motivated and collaborative, with excellent time management skills
