    Job Description

    ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

    The Conservation Corps of Long Beach (CCLB) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has helped at-risk young adults develop themselves since 1987. To date, more than 10,000 young people have participated in CCLB classes and service projects, learning new skills while contributing to the quality of life for residents of the greater Long Beach area.

    MISSION The primary mission of the Conservation Corps of Long Beach is to develop at-risk youth to reach their full potential through work, service, conservation, and education.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager and Payroll Manager, the AR/AP Specialist is responsible for a number of functions in the accounting department including data entry and ensuring payments and receivables are current.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Accounts receivable functions, not limited to posting financial transactions and processing billing.
    • Accounts payable functions, not limited to batching invoices, check runs, and keying in job costing sheets for payroll.
    • Effective use of bookkeeping databases, spreadsheets, and financial software.
    • Supporting the production of various financial reports.
    • General administrative duties such as data entry, filing, etc.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • 1-2 years' experience in AR/AP or other accounting functions.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong technology skills, particularly expertise with Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent analytical, computational, and mathematical abilities.
    • High level of integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Represent the organization well in all settings

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A. or B.S. in a related field from accredited college or university.
    • Prior accounting experience with public or non-profit agencies
    • Experience with Sage accounting platform and iSolved payroll platform
    • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures)

    OTHER DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

    • This position may often work remotely and thus requires the ability to work both collaboratively and independently at a distance with a high level of accountability, including timeliness on deliverables
