    Precise Systems is looking for a Software Engineer to support our NSWC Crane customer on site. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to the development, operation, and maintenance of software. You will encompass techniques and procedures often regulated by a software development process with the purpose of improving the reliability and maintainability of software systems. You will work to establish software information and engineering requirements necessitated by the potential complexity of those software systems, which may contain millions of lines of code. You will apply the discipline of software engineering for specific technical problems and procedures, including knowledge, tools, and methods for software requirements, software design, software construction, software testing, and software maintenance tasks. You will relate the disciplines of software engineering to the disciplines of computer science, computer engineering, management, mathematics, project management, quality management, software ergonomics, and systems engineering.

    Duties :

    • Participate in software requirements review, preliminary, and critical design reviews, integration readiness review, and software acceptance reviews.
    • Design, write, test, deploy, and support software code, as assigned.
    • Communicate with customer and team on a frequent and daily basis, as needed.
    • Interact with customer personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines.
    • Provide solutions to difficult technical problems associated with specific projects.
    • Review system drawings and technical documentation to identify change updates required for various Imaging ship systems.

    Desired Experience :

    • Three (3) years related professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks.
    • Strong Knowledge of Linux Kernel and OS.
    • Basic understanding of Petalinux and Xilinix tooling.
    • Strong understanding of C/C++ code bases and design.
    • Strong understanding of software-defined radio (SDR).
    • Basic understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes).
    • Experience with Very High-Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL).
    • Basic understanding of embedded hardware programming.
    • A basic familiarity of Electronic Warfare systems.

    Desired Education:

    • BA/BS degree in information systems, computer science, or related field. 2 years of additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of each year of education.

    Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
