Design Group is recruiting for a Patternmaker to join our team in our NYC office.

**WHAT WILL I DO IN THIS ROLE?
**

• Interpret design croquis into a home sewing pattern that is usable to construct a garment matching the croquis and fitting properly.
• Get thoroughly familiar with all specifications.
• Draft preliminary pattern from croquis by hand or by computer, using the staple.
• Transfer the draft into an accurate and precise drape.
• Make principal pattern using approved drape.
• Mark principal pattern with correct markings and text such as:
  • Seam lines, notches, grain lines, ease marks, gathering lines, pattern piece titles, design number etc.
• Check principal pattern to ensure all construction is correct.

**
WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?
**

• Formal education or training in draping and flat patternmaking.
• 4-5 years of patternmaking experience.
• Sewing skills required.
• Knowledge of ASSYST or other pattern making software.

Minimum Pay Rate: $20/hr
Maximum Pay Rate: $25/hr
