The Windows System Administrator will play an integral role on the NIWC-LANT CSSP Infrastructure and Platform Sustainment (CIPS) team supporting local and remote user desktop machines. The candidate is expected to have management and administration skills on the Windows 10 Professional/Enterprise operating system and the Microsoft Office 2013 suite or later. This position will focus on user functionality, application stability, security, and performance, as well as documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the sustainment of systems within enterprise-class environment
- Provide support for emergent Windows operating system issues
- Competent and adaptable in all areas of Windows systems administration
- Other Duties as assigned
Required Skills
Required Experience
- Must have or be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification & DoD 8570 CSSP Infrastructure Support Certification
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Windows desktop operating systems in:System installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring, and security with Windows 10 Professional or Enterprise
- Experience in using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Experience with operating system backups, restoration, and recovery models
- Experience with any desktop deployment solutions such as VMware View/Mirage/Horizon, Citrix XenDesktop/XenClient, Quest vWorkspace, Windows Deployment Services, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, ImageX, or Symantec Ghost/Altiris
- Experience with support request ticketing system(s)
HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS:
- Administering Dell laptops, notebooks, and mobile workstations
- Administering Windows Server, including Active Directory and Group Policy
- Familiarity with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), VMWare, and Network environments
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
