  • Responsibilities

    A key member of the Activate clinical team, the Regional Supervising Medical Assistant is involved in a wide range of tasks which includes coordinating all clinical and administrative efforts as it pertains to regional clinic operations.  This position assists the Regional Manager of Practice Operations in a collaborative effort to provide operational support for all clinics in the region.  This position will require local travel between clinic sites and periodic travel to clinics in neighboring cities or states.  Mileage reimbursement is provided.

    The Regional Supervising Medical Assistant indirectly assists all region-specific physicians and health coaches by delivering supportive staff and coordinating clinical functions.  The Regional Supervising Medical Assistant ensures that the clinic has supplies and resources to run efficiently.  The Regional Supervising Medical Assistant must understand the work environment of the Activate clinic in order to meet the needs of the employees and their families to facilitate the timeliness and appropriate scheduling of services required. 

    Required Skills

    • Ability to organize and manage many tasks in support of clinic operations.
    • Strong team skills with the ability to work with team members with in the clinic and across other clinics, request assistance when needed, provide support when needed, etc.
    • Positive attitude and a strong “servant leadership” mentality to both patients and other clinic staff.
    • Proven ability to accomplish clinical duties
    • Experience in and ability to adequately use an electronic EMR system along with other web-based programs for daily use
    • Ability to provide supervisory oversight according to the duties listed above to multiple clinics and medical assistants.
    • Ability to travel locally and other regional clinic sites.

    Required Experience

    • 3 years of Medical Assistant experience; preferably in a family practice setting.
    • A minimum of 1 year Lead Medical Assistant experience, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
    • Documented, proficient clinical skills as outlined above
    • Excellent communication, ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff, both internally and externally.
    • Thorough understanding and commitment to the principles of wellness and prevention.
    • Self-directed and able to work well independently and within a team.
    • Ability to collaborate with other team peers, management, and subordinates for continued process improvement. 
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
    • Experience as a medical assistant required; supervisory/management experience preferred
  • Qualifications
